Why is it that the army soldier wear the US flag flip backwards on it shoulders?

None of the above. As Commanding Officer of an Honor Guard detachment I can assure you that the reason the field (the stars) faces forward on the right shoulder is because it lies closest to the heart. Same thing applies to the left shoulder.

If you were to hold a flag, it will wave in the opposite direction (stars on the right) when the troops move foward in the battlefield.
