Why is it that state universities offer nothing for working adults?

Have you checked to see if they offer weekend classes? Many universities do offer flexible schedules -- evening classes, weekend classes, classes in locations away from the campus.

At my univserity they have a lot of classes offerred at night, though most of them are generals. We also have tons of online classes. Frankly, at my university getting adults to come isn't a problem, it is full of working adults. Also, why don't you take classes in the morning and then in the afternoon work? That is what most students do.

It seems that most state universities expect working adults (25+ older) to quit their jobs for 2-3 years to complete a degree. There's a very large public university near me that offers very few courses in the evening. However, the local community college, which has an articulation agreement worked out with this university, offers several options for working adults as well as online courses.

When can we expect this to change? And they wonder why people go to DeVry or University of Phoenix to finish their degree. I already have an AS degree, but I want to pursue a BS in Civil Engineering.

What exactly am I supposed to do?
Sorry Jake. Can't afford it. I can work part-time, but I need to find a job that offers graveyard shift, which is proving to be very difficult.
