why is it that people think that a career in art is not a career?

Some people just say well being a dancer is not a career but it is because you could have your own company one day. Or they say that actors dont have a career or painters and artist.
Do you think having a career in the arts is not a career? why or why not?
 
Yes, its career, so go with it, go with whats your heart telling you. are you in the right place, or are you in the right career, I wish someday you will make a lot of money, more then those people thing your career is not a career. good luck.
