Why is it that PC games or PS3 or Xbox 360 games cost less usually as time goes on?

like a new game goes for $40-$60, and 2 years later it costs $20-$30

Because 2 years later not that many people want the game anymore because

1.) They already have it, or
2.) They don't want it, so they need a lower price to entice them to buy it.

Basic economics. Way of the world. Older stuff always gets discounted so people will buy it.
