I can go into any book store whether I am 8 or 81 and buy the Marquis de Sade's 120 Days of Sodom which tops the most graphic movies or music lyrics by ten and yet I have to be 18 to purchase an album with parental advisory or a game/movie that is 18+?
Books have much more details to them and even can brainwash you through persuasion. The author literally can lure you into believing hitler was great and it's fine to murder jews while music and movies are much less persuasive.
