Why is it that if I debate sexuality with a christian they HAVE to be right?

I live my life like anyone else but whenever I meet a very religious person and question ANYTHING about the bible they ALWAYS have to be right?

Is this a universal thing with people who are strongly religious? I understand that everyone has their beliefs and I respect that but if I ask someone if there is a possiblity that christianity may be wrong or misinterpreted their adament that there's absoluty no room for error?
I think some of you took me up wrong. I'm not saying I have to be right but If I say that there's a possiblity I may be wrong the other person still won't budge. I've no problem challenging my beliefs but christians obviously do!

Some will threaten violence if you can run them out of creative dodges to your questions... There seems to be a similar problem among Hannity and Bill O'Reilley fans...

A Christian has set themselves up (usually by being set up with the notion of burning in Hell and the infallibility of the Bible) to be alarmed whenever the Bible is questioned. They want to preserve their belief because they have placed all their eggs in the basket of the Bible.

If the Bible is fallible, then everything they believe about their life, and about what comes after, is fallible, which they are uncomfortable with facing. Therefore, it must be true, or their is nothing to be happy about.

This is brainwashing via manipulation of emotions. Belief in God is fueled by selfish emotions, but a believer doesn't understand this. They have mistaken natural emotional constructs for supernatural 'proofs' of their beliefs, and most refuse to accept the reality that unbelievers are capable of experience just as much inner joy and peace as they do. Their lives change because they try hard at making it happen.

You are not going to convince Bible believing Christians that the Bible is wrong.

If you wish to argue particular aspects as to how society treats homosexuals (or other sexual deviants) then you may be able to convince some of your arguments.....but the issue as to it being sin is a settled matter.

Those that believe the Bible is the Word of God will hold to it above the arguments of those on Yahoo Answers....obviously.

As to those that do not believe that....if the wind blows in your direction (as to argument and acceptance) they will jump aboard.

Because they can't accept that the bible is full of error, they don't know what they really believe. They are reacting by wrote and not actually thinking about the answer. If they did they could come to different conclusions, then they might be wrong and death might be the end. They are scared, so they parrot back what they have been told with no deeper understanding.

If you're wrong, I have every right to point it out. Grow up and learn to handle it.

(Are you throwing a temper tantrum because you think it's your turn to be right? Bud, you have to earn it.)
