Why is it that Christians don't discuss their vile history?

For example, can tell us all how many people were slaughtered by the Christian Crusaders?
Can you talk about the vile history of the Spanish Inquisition?
Tell us all how peace loving Christianity spread throughout the world.
Why are you always telling everybody how righteous you all are when the true history of this movement suggests the opposite?
How can you attach yourself to a movement if you are ignorant of it's history? Please, i realize it is difficult, but try not to quote passages from the Bible in your answer.
 
The world itself is very difficult. History is full of wars and bad experiences caused by all sorts of reasons unknown to us. Your generalizing though. Believe it or not Christians are individuals who like and dislike other people, including other christians.
 
We all fall short from the glory of God.

You can be sure that is not the will fo God for our life. He warned us that there are going to be a lot of bad things happening in His Holy name that He is not approving.

You do not blame atheists for the cries of Stalin and Mao etc!

I want to talk about the gospel of God. It is the good news that God loves you and whats to give you eternal life in heaven, and the personal and life saving relationship can start here on earth

I am not going to take a blame for the vile hisory of "Christianity". Jesus is the perfect examle for us, and things did nto have to go that route if people would have followed Him instead of religion. I am not righteous. I am not saved becuse I am good. I am saved because I accet the perfect offer from Jesus. I accet Him as my God and Savior I am not saved because I am good, none of us are. We are saved because God is good. We are saved because we are forgiven. It is wise to ask forgiveness and let God to save us, because we cannot make it to heaven any other way but through Jesus Christ who is our God and Savior.

Christianity is not a movement. Crusades might have been. Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and you either have it or you do not have it. You also need to know who Jesus really is. You cannot make up your own version of Jesus like Mormons and Muslims and Jehovah's Witnesses have made.

You are ignorant to the truth about Jesus Christ. He is the reason we are Christians. He is the reason we remain Christians. Do not try to force us to the box that we do nto belong to.

Why do you think we quote the Bible? We believe it is the Word of God. Apart for the Word of God we are left with human opinions about what is right and what is wrong and so on. Opinions are like noses, we all have one. I realize it is difficult for you to understand it. ( It is lke me asking you to explain the evolution theory without using science )

God's offer is the same for all of us. He would like to have you, but He will let you go if you do not use your free will and choose Him. He needs us for nothing. Think about it.

Seriously, though, Its probably because most modern day Christians didn't actually participate in the Crusades and all. That would be the same as saying all Germans are evil because of the holocaust. It would be stupid for them to deny that it ever happened, though.
 
I understand what you are saying. I have studied the history of the Christian religion. This is the same answer I always keep giving to questions like these:
"No true believers, followers of Jesus Christ did such things as you have mentioned above: crusaders, Inquisitions, witch hunts, killing of the heretics, and all the other terrible things the religious people did in the name of Christianity. No true believer of Jesus Christ did these things".



I also casually say that the true Christians were most likely thrown to the wild beast in the Roman Arenas 1700-2000 years ago.

I will run circles around you in the topic of "Christian History".
 
IDK, do you like to talk about that time you got drunk? or one time at band camp? or that dalliance? or that lapse in judgement from 15 years ago?

Its human nature not to discuss ones shortcomings.
 
I think the Catholic church was apostate from 666 ad when the pope declared himself to be supreme potentate until Martin luther separated the protestant church. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
 
The answers are usually one of these two:

1) They weren't real Christians! (aka the No True Scotsman Fallacy)

2) Look at what atheism did! (While referring to Communist Russia - never mind that it was done in the name of Communism, not Atheism, while the religious wars and killings were done in the name of God)
