...in science classrooms but...? But they completely disregard every other religions fantasy stories about the creation. The aborigine's, native americans, Hindu's, Bah'aii, Inuit, Thai, Hmong etc.... Each one of these people have their own version of the creation myth but Christians only fight for the inclusion of intelligent design into science classrooms. Could it be because they are hypocrites and use the argument that because science has not found some missing pieces in the theory of evolution that there little wishful thinking should be taught alongside of it as if it had some sort of merit. It has no merit. It is a story in a 2000 year old fairy tale book. I could come up with a creation story in about 5 minutes but that wouldn't be taught as science because it has absolutely no scientific proof and neither does the Judeo christian mythos. It is your belief. It has no more weight than a fantasy book written by a sci-fi author of the 20th century. YOu are children trying to play with the adults. Grow up please and leave the real thinking to those of us that understand what scientific theory and observation and testing are. This is exactly like a certain other group I can think of that screams at the top of their lungs about diversity and acceptance and are the first to condemn others who do not fit their mold. Hypocrites, all of you.
Bianca, This is exactly what I am talking about. You say that other theories should be discussed so where do you draw the line. Are you a standard christhypocrite and think only your "theory" (They are all theories, even evolution) should be included? What about all the other peoples I listed and the many I didn't included. What is your criteria? SHould it only be included if more than a million people believe it? What about if 5 million believe. Should a theory be included if the majority of people in a certain school district believe it. Evolution is just a theory but it is the only theory that relies on observation and testing of hypotheses. The rest are just beliefs borne of faith which is worthless because as I stated, millions of people can believe something that will later be proven dead wrong. So come on, somebody who is a supporter of ID, back up your reasoning for its inclusion in a SCIENCE classroom. Science relies on observation and testing, religion does not.
Hey Redrose, Cry me a freakin river about the loss of your "rights" According to current research, being an athiest tops the list of reasons that parents would forbid their child to date someone. We have had your nonsense fairy tales rammed down our throats for 2000 years and had to remain silent so as not to be executed for heresy. Even now people lose their jobs for daring to question your religious beliefs so dont talk to me about losing prayer in the school. You are still the majority and no athiest can get elected to an office above city council in this supposedly "inclusive" country. You make me sick. I have to fear for my safety and security should I visit alabama and you cry because you don't get to force me to listen to your principal pray over the intercom.
Redrose,
Are you honestly going to tell me that a soldier in the United states armed forces got all of his compatriots to march around the walls of an insurgent bunker and blow a rams horn for 7 days in a row and god magicked down the walls. Wow you are really reaching. The last time the bible taught anybody military tactics was in the 2nd century and 4 kids decided to take out the neighborhood bully with a sling. Keep on giving me material like this and I will never run out of way to expose the hypocrisies (at least 68 I can quote) in your magic book.
Since when did " a 2000 year old book told me so" begin to pass for truth in this country? You people are like the residents of Oceania in Orwell's "1984" You honestly believe that because the book says so, it is true. Science has proven a lot of things. I can prove the chemical reaction of sodium acetate and oxygen. You can't prove a single thing. You can't prove who even wrote your book. You believe whatever you want but don't go around calling it the truth. Prove who wrote it. Prove Jesus lived. Prove he said what he said. Prove that the garden of eden existed. Prove the world was flooded. Prove Moses talked to a burning bush and parted the red sea. Prove any one of those things without referring to the book. I can prove how the lungs work. I can prove that dinosaurs existed. I can prove that the earth revolves around the sun. I can prove the earth is round. And I can do all of that without a magic book.
