...other countries/ animals don't? I've wondered this for a long time. I often hear how with humans it is instinct to make eye contact to show friendliness. I've always found prolonged eye contact intimidating. Recently I was made aware that this is not the case with all countries and that some countries have the same feeling as I do torward prolonged eye contact. Animals in general do not do this to be friendly, but to assert dominance or before attack in some cases...so how did it get to be a sign of friendliness and honesty?
