...should be a societal shared burden? I mean, we accept that the cost of certain other things should be shared by society....but why the reticence against such a humane and christian thing as taking care of the sick or at least saying we are going to work it out so that taking care of one's health should be as inexpensive to the individual as we can possibly make it. By that, I mean like saying that anyone should have a flat 90% of all costs of healthcare policy and that the cost of such a plan should be no more than $90 a month for adults and no more than $40 a month for a child. Yes, I know thats not enough to really cover the costs, but the difference would be a govt subsidy paid for by taxes paid by those of us who have the most wealth.
What is so awful and unchristian about such a plan?
