Why is it okay for men to break wind, but when us females do it we get made fun of?

I was with a group of friends at the mall today and this dumb kid who I think has a crush on my kept passing gas and using his hand to waft it to my face. I got fed up, so I stood up on the table in the mall food court and blasted one right in his face. I honestly didnt expect it to smell as bad as it did, but I thought it was still hilarious. Well the guys didnt and now they call me "The Stinker". Why the double standard?

Chances are yours just stunk worse than his, that's all.

But for the record, breaking wind is rude, uncalled for and ill mannered in so many levels irrespective of who does it.

And if you are right about the dumb kid, the best thing you could have done is walk away.

Sorry to inform you thats probably one of the least matter double standard. what im trying to say there are worst double standards than farting. for example men can sleep around, women cant.
