...citizens? For example the 2.2 trillion Obama gave out to corporations will help 20,000 people. That same amount would help MILLIONS of individuals who are not CEOs or employed for those companies.
At least regular folks would pay off their debts and spend the money inside the US boosting the economy, whereas CEO's have been investing the 'bailout' on overseas investments or purcchases, such as 2 CITI ceo's using the money to buy themselves multi million dollar jets from France.
Also most of the employees of the companies that got the bailouts are not US citizens but work for their companies overseas.

It is not okay to bail out anyone. It is ridiculous and stupid, and it is backfiring. It started with AIG. Before that Congress was against bailing out corporations.

Why AIG? Because they hold the retirement plan for the US Congress.

Free money to people = socialism

Free money to failing businesses = ???

Yeah I don't get it either.

Because you don't employ over 1000 people or contribute millions in taxes the the government and individual doesn't hurt the economy as much as a Company does when it goes down. and you have a way out its called run away or file bankruptcy.

Giving large chunks of money, in theory, to individuals would cause runaway inflation. Businesses would realize consumers have this bonus and that now means they can raise prices on consumer goods.
