Why is it often assumed all males should be obsessed with sports or video games?

From the title of the question you can obviously discern I'm not a huge sports fan. I don't hate them by any means, they just never interested me as a spectator activity. I do like engaging in physically strenuous exercise for the health benefits, but when it comes to following every little stat or score or knowing who's being traded to who or how John Smith threw an incomplete pass and it cost Houston the game (just throwing out some random fictional example) I am lost. I find myself equally lost with gamer geeks. No, I don't have the latest edition of Final Fantasy or Warcraft or whatever trendy new game is out there right now. Not that I'm knocking them either. It's like most dudes gravitate toward some sort of competitive activity for socialization and bonding. Thankfully I have found friends who share my interests (mountain biking is a sport I guess, but I don't watch other people biking on TV). I never felt like I needed to belong to some sort of 'tribe' or team but I must be an exception.
