Doesn't that go against the concept of free speech?
Honestly, it's not like voting makes a difference at all. Why isn't it alright to be an intelligent observer, and not a participant?
Anthony, on the contrary, many attempts can be made to change the status quo without voting (one of the least effective ways).
And kudos for understanding I was talking about the individual; not the masses in reference to the effect voting has.
Is it because people that do take time and effort to vote feel angry at those who make good political observations, but the motivation to take part in something that will have zero change?
"If you voted for the morons then you shouldn't complain. I get to complain all I want, because I am not voting for any of these morons."
Hah, well said.
Joe, not all people own guns either, but plenty talk about gun rights/control. Not everyone is pregnant but plenty talk about abortion. And not everyone votes, but many use their right of free speech to politically change things more effectively than voting.
Some people that vote don't even do that.
