Why is it good to use wind energy?

When it is windy, the spinning blades on the wind turbine spin, creating a form of energy that helps produce electricity. It is a natural source of energy, and it helps for the sake of the environment.
 
What are negative and positive reasons to use wind energy or why, hypothetically, would it be good/bad to build a wind turbine next to your house?
