why is it easier to text/chat rather then talk to sumone in person?

i hate talking to people in person, like i get so akward around the people that i usually don't talk to that much. i just can't figure out what to say lol but when they text me or i chat with them on facebook its so easy. i just keep talking and talking or even when they call me i can talk but when i see them in person i kinda stay quiet lol do you get like that??
