Why is it easier to maintain balance on a bicycle at high speed ?

at high speed on a bicycle/ bike you can drive with your hands off the bike ...but as soon you slow down its difficult to maintain the balance.
Any options.Thx to all in advance.
 
At speed, the bike wheels are developing considerable centripetal force. They act like a gyroscope. It becomes rather hard to make the bike change direction, actually!
