why is islam an important part of world culture?

my Friend asked me this same question and i couldn't answer it with an honest answer....
does anyone know why Islam is an important part of world culture??
 
Oh that is hard to answer because there is so much things right with Islam that is right for the world. It is important perhaps because it is the second largest religion in the world and the fastest growing. Therefore, it may be that it will one day be the biggest religion in the world. Moreover, more and more people are converting to Islam
