Why is health care so expensive in the US?

Why was it so expensive in the US with all the rocket prices we have? What are the major reasons for this? illegal immigrants, companies, etc and so on so on. I mean recent studies show that that we are ranked 37th for best health care while France has 1st best health care in the world. Even Cuba has universal health care. Even though we have good health care in the US, why is it so expensive?

What about the recent heath care law that Obama passed last year? can it help or no?
