Supposing that it's his native tongue, why is he so terrible with it?
He's reduced to saying the same things every interview. "That's hockey", and "In hockey, you just have to get the puck to the net", "That's hockey, your job is to move the puck".
These would seem profound in their extreme simplicity, but the way he says these phrases make him come off more like a semi-retarded child who's kind of been trained by his in-house tutor, like "this is hockey", "this is chair", "this is desk". And he kind of just recites it all from memory when picking up on verbal cues from the interviewers.
Anyways...yeah...just an observation.
