Why is blind faith more important than skepticism, rationality, logic,

science and history UPDATED? Blind faith is the belief in something supernatural without any evidence, so this applies to all religions.
From dictionary.com:
blind faith
Definition: belief without true understanding, perception, or discrimination

Applied to a supernatural, religious context, my definition is wholly accurate.

Like i said before.. people want more than what rationality, logic, science alone can offer. It's not rational to put others before yourself.
it's not logical (per se) to believe that everyone has free will, and is therefore responsible for his actions.

skepticism only takes us so far in our pursuit of truth, because our understanding is limited and we are fallible. for some issues it's inevitable to reach a point where you need to just step into one direction, on faith.

if a father's only daughter died a violent death, why is it wrong for him to believe that she is in a better place? What does rationality, logic, and science, offer to the grieving parent?

"1 John 3:16: This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers."
That's the kind of stuff we need more of, that religious beliefs can offer.
Why are you staunchly against all of theism and spirituality? Many theists and spiritual people have a lot of good to offer others.

All faith is blind, it is belief without evidence or proof. But, it is not more important than skepticism, rationality, logic, science and history .

Simply ask yourself: "Who stands to gain from the arrangement -- where everything said by scripture or inferred from it by its clergy is accepted without question?"

If you said, "The little man at the front of the church with the funny shirt collar and his hand reaching toward your wallet", go to the head of the class.

People are free to ask questions...
I've asked plenty of questions about my religion, and I still think it's all reasonable.
Think, if there was .0001% more or less gravity, we wouldn't exist. If we were only a bit closer to the sun, we wouldn't exist. There are billions of coincidences that have happened allowing us to come into livable conditions. What created those chances? Obviously, something must have. Therefore, God must have.

It is easy to believe in something that you can see , hear & touch. True faith means believing without seeing. Remember Thomas Jesus desciple who said he would not beleive until he had put his hand in the Lords side and the holes in his hands. How much more blessed are we believers who has faith without seeing....

No It does not apply to any religion.

The concept of blind faith was build when you are not able to deduce the logical answers given by our elders, forefathers and/or masters. It was because we do not want to take the effort to see what they want to tell behind the words they say and due to our laziness we accept what they say.

But if you are ready to give time (which we usually do not have) they can prove it all to us. Like the existence of God everywhere, The existence of heaven and hell and many more things we just want to deny for they are coming between us and the things we want to enjoy...

Frankly any religion is based on the truth these great people experienced at that time. If you want to challenge the guineity
of what they said then you first have to upgrade yourself to that level, and in current time it is nearly impossible so go on with it.

Please I know that whatever they said is not 100% available now it has been changed, altered, modified even many thing are deleted and completely ignored, so what they said and what was added later is your own perception or judging.

Hoping the best for you......

Because if you don't or can't suspend all logic and sense in the unsubstantiated theory about the giant invisible sky fairy then it's impossible to believe it. This is because it beggars belief. :)

Practicing Shaman... quantum physics rocks.

It's more important if you want to live your life, free from critical thinking. It's easy to live a life like that - you don't have to wonder "why", you just accept what has been indoctrinated into you. In media studies, they would call it the hypodermic model.

cause stupidity is a bliss.

the less you know, the less you have to bear any burden of responsibility
