For one thing, black history is rarely taught and when it is it seems to be typically taught by a White teacher
1) Are there no willing black teachers?
2) Why isnt black history taught more in schools?
No I am not saying only blacks should teach this but there should definitely be MORE teaching this

No I am not demanding special treatment because I am black. There arent enough black teacher teaching their own history. Thats not racist. It is fine for everyone to know and love black history but there isnt enough black teachers is all
On the reservations for instance (Native Americans) there arent many Native teachers that stay. It isnt wrong to want to see more teachers teaching their own history to the students.

It dosent mean a black teacher knows more but a black teacher may understand what it is to be black more. There are certain aspects of being black a white person may never understand. I would like to see a bigger mix of peopleteaching cultural history in schools (Black, Hispanic, Asian, Ahite, EVERYONE). It has always been white people that know little about the culture itself. And there should be more black teachers not all black teachers
Again I never said start handing out teaching certificates. Of course they need to have the right training. I didnt say just start polucking black folks of the street and have them teach.
Actually when I am done with college I may teach black history and do more within the community.
Like for instance I did a report on Nubian civilizations and my African studies tecaher who was White didnt like it because he didnt believe blacks were ever apart of a great civilzation. He said it was too controversial.
