Why is biking on the road so dangerous? Or do I just have bad luck?

I have been hit twice riding my bike to school in the past month. The first destroyed the back wheel on my bike and the driver sped off. The second one happened today while I was crossing a street IN a crosswalk. I am very lucky in the fact that I have been uninjured in both accidents. Has the dmv started issuing crack to California drivers or something?

well some drivers just don't know how to drive with pedestrians (your still considered a pedestrian even though your on a bike and not walking), like today i was driving my truck and a guy riding a bike had headphones on, the idiot swerved into the middle of the lane i was in only because he looked behind him to look at me, sometimes its the driver's fault but sometimes its the bike riders fault, sounds like in both of your cases it was the driver's fault at least the one today, you didn't give enough info on the 1st incident to tell rather it was their fault or yours, when your riding your bike you also have to follow the traffic laws and a bike riders rules
