why are the american dubs, recycling voice actors? its the same voice actors for every anime its getting annoying?

i mean they could make a effort to bring more unique voices out to the anime dub world!

the same voice actors gets used all the time, Spike Speigels voice, is used in alot of other animes, Major from Ghost in the shell, her voice is used alot to, so in Inuyasha's

Because anime voice acting is a pain in the butt and pays for crap, meaning there's a limited pool of actors willing to put with it.

Really, this is like asking why John Cho plays both Harold from Harold and Kumar and Sulu in the new Star Trek movie. Because actors *gasp* play more than one role. That's what makes them "actors."
 
Its the same in the Japanese dubs. Alot of the more popular voice actors get used alot. Light from Death Note and Setsna from Gundam 00 are both voiced by Mamoru Miyano. Ishida from Bleach and Sasuke from Naruto have same VA. Romi Park has been cast in probably 50 animes
 
No, it would be more like asking why John Cho is in Star Trek, Drag Me to Hell, Land of the Lost, Year 1, Transformers 2, the New Harry Potter, GI Joe... (No, he's not in all those movies, because Hollywood actors don't appear in every other film like anime va's voice every other anime )
 
It's really no different in any country that dubs foreign properties, even live action ones. For example, the person who dubs Robert De Niro in german, often also dubs Harvey Keitel, Donald Sutherland, Martin Sheen, Robert Redford, Jon Voight, Dennis Hopper and various others. The amount of good VA's is very limited, so in order to keep some level of quality, the producers of those dubs tend to stick to established voice artists who can do the job. However, i do know the strange feeling of Deja vu when you keep hearing hear the same voice come out of the mouth of completely different actors (not in the same film of course), which is arguably even eerier than hearing the same voice from different animated characters.
 
The Japanese voice industry does the same thing. Hell every entertainment industry does the same thing.

The reason you keep hearing the same voices in anime is the same reason you keep seeing the same actors in movies. A limited nuraber of actors.
 
But you know why this is, because the pay for anime dubs really sucks, a lot of good VAs don't do it, like Tara Strong. Not to mention most dubs are non union and dubbing is harder to do then pre-lay work.
 
For dubs it could be a matter of finding decent voice actors and then sticking with them, Funimation ought to find more though as I can't grasp Vic Mogona as Keroro, and Piccolos voice should be kept to Piccolo and Zolo as if a VA is asked to use the same voice alot it could make the VA seem as if they can't do any other voices.
 
Rie Kugumiya has done more typecast roles and roles in general than any USA dubber will ever do.

Not to mention Nobuyuki Hiyama, Norio Wakamoto, and many others.

So it's really "Why is Japan lazy?"
 
Except that what you said isn't true. The pay for anime dubs are reasonable, and dubbing is not harder than pre-lay work.
 
Have you done doing post-lay? It's easily 5 times harder than a format that lets you run free with emotions, especially when they give you time to develop and attach to the character. Most anime dubs are cold reaRAB.

And the pay is bad compared to pre-lay, or even regular commercial voice-work. It's one of the lower-paying jobs in the industry.
 
Someone who has a lot of time on their hanRAB should consider calculating just how much one set of VAs is used compared to another. Do this for North American pre-lay, North American dub work, and Japanese voice work. It'd be nice having real nurabers to work with, eh? Any takers? No?

Where you are getting your info from and is it a better source then an actual voice actor?

I mean why do think certain voice actors refuse to do anime dubs then?
 
FUNimation's got 400 or so voice actors to choose from in their Texas area and uses them all plenty.

Chris Sabat uses his natural voice for roles because it is the voice they cast him to use. The nuraber of voices one useses doesn't matter. Steven Jay Blum only has three voices, but he still gets around.
