Bicycles must follow the same laws as a car or motorcycle. If you're over 12 years old, you shouldn't be riding on the sidewalk. Sidewalks are for people walking. It's not safe for you or them to ride a bike there.
You can get a $275 ticket in some areas around here for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. Not running a red light is just common sense.

For the same reason that cars shouldn't drive on the sidewalk or run red lights. It might save your life or the person you run over.
