Why have the presenters name in the title?

Although the host's name clearly attracts some viewers it's an extremely useful device to warn off millions of others and we should be grateful to the producers for that. A similar thing is ''Theme sung by Dennis Waterman'' which guarantees I don't watch as does any mention of Adrian Chiles.

The reason is "ratings chasing."

These days, both TV companies and many viewers are obsessed with "celebrity/presenters."

Many people will watch a programme because their "favourite" is presenting it, rather than a real interest in the content.

These people will often hog the foreground while some of us are "craning our necks" trying to see the subject they're bangin' on about which is now behind them, away in the far distance.
They'll also often be shown "doin' stuff." As someone on here once said take those sort of programmes away and half the schedules will have gone.

Even worse is when the said presenter has to name check themselves at the start. At least Anton Dec always says "Welcome to Takeaway" and Alan always says "The AT show".

I get the point where it's a chat show or similar where the presenter is the "star" of the show and even possible the BBC4 series where it was Gatiss' personal journey through the history or horror

but the thing about the film show or genius adding the presenters name for the second series

It's like listing University Challenge with Jeremy Paxman
