Why has X factors ratings increased since Sharon Osborne quit?

Surely the shows ratings should have plummeted when the queen of showbiz quit? And then Simon should have had to beg Sharon to return listening and heeding her terms and conditions? Why didnt it work out like this?:confused::confused::confused::)

Nah she did Three WorRAB :p

Anyway it's because people knew they wouldn't have to tune in to a vile, dry vagina'd, bitter, twisted, ugly, foul mouthed cow each week.

Shame we are still lumbered with Louis tbh...Sharon was fine...

If you look on the x factor forum you will see how disliked Sharron was and from what I can remember she was not very pleasant. Everyone seems to love Dannii now which is great as she's my fave:D

First of all, I have no time for Kowell's Karaoke Kontests (nice one Sjoscinev, and lets have Bird Is The Word), but I'm confused about something.

They already have American Idol in the US, and now Kowell's taken XF over there now.

What's the difference?

I know that the X-Factor replaced Pap Idol in the UK, but weren't they both the same show with different names and judges.

Pop Idol was only for 16s to 25s. The judges did not mentor the contestants. The judges did not decide who stayed or went. It was always by public vote.

SC fell out with Simon Fuller whose creation Pop Idol/American Idol was.

Because the judges decide who stayed and went is what makes Xfactor a bit of a mockery IMHO. The public votes count for nothing. Every year Cowell and co will put through 'acts' like Wagner who cant really sing, but are there for the novelty value, plus it also gets us talking about it on forums like this. If an act like Wagner goes down to the bottom two, you can bet he will be kept in no matter who he is against (well, apart from possibly the one act Cowell wants to win), for at least a couple more weeks. This makes for a good watercooler talking moment the next day, great controvery, keeps him in the headlines etc.

Cowell has the formula just right for a great reality entertainment show. As much as I hate him, and as much as I know how much of a fix this is, I have started Sky+'ing the show each week, just to fast forward to the Wagner song

Basically, you can vote for your 'favourites' as much as you want. The judges will keep in the one which keeps us all talking the next day. As good as it once was, American Idol missed that trick.

As an entertainment show, XFactor is fine, as long as you dont believe the hype and start thinking its a talent contest

Have to say though, I really like Simon Fuller's shows such as SYTYCD . Has the feel of a proper talent show. :D
