i mean, i understand people need affordable cars and american makes were falling behind the competition from japan, but why aren't brands like mazda or vw more popular?
up until recently toyota has proven to be mechanically reliable, but they don't really make a quality product. by that i mean in initial quality. they don't use quality materials, they have cheaper quality interiors than mazda and usually are not styled as nicely as mazda imo.
and as for vw, around the globe they have a solid reputation for making quality, reliable vehicles people can depend on, yet in america they are not so successful. i mean come on. sit in any vw and their interiors are as high quality as a bmw, they have great engines, always look mile better that the competition and are only slightly more expensive than say a toyota or honda and with the quality you get for the price it's really a great bargain!
also, do you feel that due to toyotas's recent mishap that it will effect their sales in the future and americans will turn to brands like mazda?
have people been brainwashed?
