...just saying.. now, would, you know, be a cool time to get started... surprised one was never done all these years.. grrr...

at least now the "father & son" angle wouldn't be just "invented for the show".. ;)

heck-- if there were some animated adaptations of some comics or some unfilmed scripts ("monkey king", etc.), they could likely get Harrison Ford to do the voice...

It may be due to the fact that most of indys adventures couldnt be summed up in a half hour, even animated ones (all the researching, developing the villains, etc).

great just what we need another water/dumbed down versions of a movie

hmmm was there a E.T movie or did the game kill that

Possibly, but at the same time, keep in mind that CBS controls Paramount's animation studios(anyone remember Itsy Bitsy Spider and Duckman?), so it would be their call. I'm real sure CBS Broadcasting, Inc. would've had a difficult time preparing an Indiana Jones animated series, let alone finding a channel or network to pick it up, unless they could consult either Cartoon Network or Spike TV, among others. If an animated series could be made, it would have to be at least an hour long, because I agree, Indy's adventures on TV would be too complex to cram into 30 minutes.

I wouldn't be surprised if sometime in the future, George Lucas does an animated series. However, I think he just wants to focus on Star Wars for now.

Let us not forget that back in the `90s when we had the Young Indiana Jones series there had never been a Star Wars show (live-action or animation).

Unless you wanna count the Christmas special. ;)

Good question. You would think that it would have been done before since they had a lot of cartoons based off of live action movies in the '80's.

Even James Bond had a series, although it was based on his nephew. But still, there was one. As for how Indy's adventures can't be summed up in one ep, they can have multi-part sagas.

If not, Doug Lee from The Fate of Atlantis and The Infernal Machine video games would be a perfect replacement.

I believe it's something Lucas hinted at, that it was an idea that interested him, but has said nothing else about it since. If an animated Indy series ever happen, I'd love for them to use Patrick Schoemaker's designs. And LucasFilm is obviously aware of him, since that one lithograph of his is available on the Indiana Jones Shop.

DuckTales had similar themes to the Indy movies and they pulled off criss-crossing the globe to find treasure in a half-hour. It would be a cool thing to see, but Indy's main advesaries are Nazis and I don't know how well they would play in a cartoon. I mean, Justice League did a good job portraying them, but it would take some work.
