Why has the US been the most prosperous and free nation in history?

It began with what our founding fathers left for us. Our Constitution, and hard working men and women throughout our history. Capitolism, the wheel that turns America. Free enterprise!

innovations in technology, which were created by Americans because America became a "melting pot" of races and ethnicities, and the more diverse a person's ethnic background is, the more intelligent and capable they are.

Imperialism, colonialism, protectionism, slavery, fictitious capital, and socialism offsetting market failures.

Our prosperity has been an illusion as our recent financial collapse has shown.

Freedom ain't free, it costs people like you and me...

2500+ American citizens dead
1,000,000 Iraqi citizens dead
__________

BILLIONS in oil they "had" stockpiled stolen.

Why are they prosperous? That might help.

Free? To do what? Be slaves? have 2 working parents instead of one b/c employers stopped paying good wages, forcing women to work?

I don't believe you guys are THAT free, I mean Canada's got free (tax paid) health care. Sure there are private clinics too, just the basics are COVERED.

We both face large corps sucking us for money in ISP land though. Lack of competition screws with things.

We'll be better off when we get daily voting ALONGSIDE our "leaders" as they PROPOSE laws. BEFORE they are contract law we previously had no voice in...

You're not listening to the libs!!! It's because we have exploited the poor people of the world, we have single handedly destroyed the environment, we have used up all the Earth's resources, and we're at fault for Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis's break up.
