Why get a diet drink at Mcdonalds?

I work at Mcdonalds and want to know why it is that people come thru and get the double quarter pounder meal large with 2 apple pies or 3 cookies and a diet coke?? To me that just defeats the pursose of the diet coke.

Can't say about adding the apple pies or cookies, but as a diabetic, the carbohydrate count of a non-diet soda is equal to or greater than the entire rest of the meal. Bad enough to be hitting up the fast food, but I'd have to double my insulin for the real coke on top of it.

It gives them the Illusion that they're eating healthy...when they're not.

they can tell everyone they drink diet coke.
