Why don't we fry food in fish oil?

In my gym class, our teacher was explaining how fish oil is really good for you, but he also brought up the fact that fries and stuff are so bad for us because they're fried in bad oil. So I was wondering why we don't just fry stuff in fish oil. Is fish oil more expensive? Is it so chemically different that the frying process just doesn't work the same?

First off, fish oil is very expensive and used as a supplement.
Second, fish oil will smell like fish
Most oils used for deep frying such as peanut oil is very neutral in flavor and doesn't impart a smell or taste onto the food.
Third, cooking oils are extracted from plants and then purified- corn, peanut, rapeseed(canola), olive, coconut, palm etc. Lard and fat from other animals are hardly used in cooking (of course, unless the fat is on the meat that you're cooking)
