Why don't they show...

Am I the only person who is fed up with the local cinemas only showing a small range of blockbusters. I live within fairly easy driving distance of 6 cinemas ( 3 Odeon, 2 Empire,1 Vue) but they seem incapable of giving even a modest showing of anything other than Hollywood blockbusters. I wanted to see The Upside of Anger with Kevin Costner which has had good reviews but it's not been shown in any of them. Do they really gave to give over half the screens to Spiderman etc.

It happens over and over again.

And as for anything with subtitles-forget it!

All we've got at my nearest cinema this week is the big two out at the moment. i'd liked to have seen Jindabyne but would have had to go a long way to see it. I suppose that the big blockbusters make so much money for them that they dont think anybody wants to see anything else.

My local cinema is a six screen cineworld. Pirates is showing on three screens. And at 8pm every night it is on four screens! So not much choice at the moment!

I wanted to see Babel when it came out & none of my local cinemas were showing it. Closet one was 25 miles away.

It even had Brad Pitt in so it was a double surprise

I saw this-on a plane! It was really good but more intelligent than Johnny Depp swinging from a rope so the powers that be probably thought we weren't up to it!
