Why don't they make cars that comfortably fit tall people?

I'm 6'5" and I've test driven every single "big" car on God's green earth and none of them fit me comfortably. From the Camry, Accord, Malibu. Sedans and coupes. You name it and I've test driven it. I always have to climb down into the car and my knees are always forced up into my chest. Now, you may be asking yourselves why not just get a truck or SUV, right?

Well, my answer is simple. Gas mileage. Even the smallest 4 cylinder SUV's and trucks only average 18-22 mpg highway and hybrids are way out of my price range. So what are us tall folks supposed to do? Drive an incredibly uncomfortable car and spend $1,500 a year on gas or drive a pick-up or an SUV and drop $5,000 on an annual gas bill? I really need some grass roots opinions here.

My husband is also 6'5 and has a hard time fitting in smaller cars. We have to drive an SUV now because of family size, but when we first got married, he drove an Chevy Impala. He said it had tons of leg room and his head didn't touch the roof. I'm not sure if they get as good of gas mileage as say a Toyota Prius, but its definently better than an SUV or truck. Good luck on your car hunt.
