Last night there was a bad storm. The power didn't go off, but if it did my laptop would've gone to battery backup--all my work would've been saved.
That got me thinking--why can't other electronics have battery backups standard? I'm not talking about radios that you can put your own batteries into for backup. I mean, desktop computers, DVD players (so if you've programmed a program it'll still record), televisions, etc.
Why don't they build batteries into all of these commonly used electronics?
