Why don't the world powers ever discuss putting sanctions on Israel?

Everyone's in a fit because Iran had a second nuclear plant, and want to slap on more sanctions (as if Iran cares). Never mind that Iran should have the right to defend itself from the threat in the Middle East.
Israel, on the other hand, not only has nuclear weapons, but refuses to admit it, or sign the non-proliferation treaty. Add to that the fact that Israel continuously violates UN resolutions, and they should have been invaded by now (Iraq was occupied for much less). And yet it's Iran that is threatened with sanctions. Anyone else notice the double standards?

Because Israel isn't a theocratic terrorist state like Iran. They don't go around threatening to destroy their neighbors like Iran, and Netanyahu isn’t actively engaged in trying to start WWIII like Ahmadinejad is.

Israel has been invaded...several times...and the Arab countries always got routed. Sure it'll be great if the whole world played by the same rules...but that's not how it works...

Iran has violated numerous sactions as well. And no one HAS to sign the NPT...look at India and Pakistan.

That whole area is a mess.
