negatively portrayed in the media? The new movie coming out, similar to Borat. Its some kind of comedy with this supposedly gay guy as the star. Lesbians and gay activists have came out to strongly protest this movie. I have seen other groups of people do the same. (Blacks, whites, handicaps, Jews, Muslims, feminists, gays, etc.) So why don't men do this as a group? Surely the media shows men in an undesirable way like the others. I have my own conclusions, but was wondering what everyone else thought in general and what feminists thought in particular.

Why should we? When you protest something, you aren't just telling the world how powerless you really are, you are also telling everyone that you will never be worthy to be anything apart from powerless.
Besides, "protesting" something is the best form of free advertising anyone can hope to get.

1) Men have the self confidence to not feel threatened or shaken by another groups portrayal of themselves.
2) Men have the burden of keeping the world afloat on their shoulders. Unlike women and children, men don't have the luxury of copious amounts of 'bs' time to complain about every frivolous issue.

One thing is I don't have the time to waste on something like that. Anyway Most straight men or dogs or player so how can they be mis protrayed in the movies?
There is no one factor, it is a combination of factors.....
1) man naturally can handle this better than any other group
2) men have been taught that their own kind is mostly made up of bad persons as our other poster has expressed clearly (and misandrically)
3) misandry is making its way into the high schools, middle schools and elementary schools.....it used to be that teachers woul wait until college to teach boys and girls that boys are bad, but why wait? it has been happening sooner and sooner
4) mere misandric lessons arent enough....they put misandric posters on the walls now, too, so even when the teacher isnt talking, the message can be conveyed
5) the cool thing is if you spread the hate/contempt of men thing long enough, no one even notices and this no one speaks up for fear of being labeled a hater.....isnt that ironic, no one speaks up about the hate directed at men and boys lest they be accused of being a misogynist

You're kind of doing the same thing when you want opinions from "feminists." Are we all supposed to think the same way? How well are they portrayed in the media?
The world is pretty much run by straight white guys. All the other groups you mention have been kept down and portrayed as stereotypes--and stereotypes were part of helped to keep them down. (And by "down," I mean kept out of positions of power.) Perhaps you can understand why groups like that wouldn't appreciate the perpetuation of negative stereotypes.

People find it annoying that groups that have not overcome a lot of diversity or faced much if any prejudice or hardship say that they are being discriminated against.
I don't say this because I feel like a victim as a women, I Absolutely don't. Think of me saying this an an Australian, or a white person.
