Why don't schools teach this sort of thing in History?

My best friend just taught me about Estonia, and how they won their independence by singing after being invaded five times by the Soviet Union and Germany. I didn't even know that the Baltic union existed until today. It's kinda retarded how the only things I've learned in History are strictly just about the US. I'm just wondering why they don't teach this sort of thing in school. I'd be MUCH more motivated to get good grades if they taught me about this stuff.
Well, I would, but I'm not sure Homeschooling works the same way. I'll try though!
Third answer; Well still. I think after three years of learning about Christopher Columbus, it all gets pretty old. They don't need to continuously beat it into our brains when they can be teaching us more about other countries in the world.

Interesting I shall have to ask an Estonian friend about that. Take a class in World History and recommend such to your school officials, the ones that listen.

If you are only taught what your government wants you to learn then you will be easier to control. All governments do not want us to learn about each other. Could you imagine any war when both sides are friends ?
