its the safest place for me to put them when im giving their cage a proper clean. but when i try to put them in it, the freak out.
um you idiot it never has water in it.
DONT BOTHER ANSWERING IF YOUR GOING TO BE A DICK
thanks for the 2 nice answers and screw you other lot.
they are only in it for 10 mins at the most
the only other animal ive had in it was my hamster

When I had rats and cleaned out their cage, if there was no one else in the house to play with them, I used to put them in an empty bath with some toys and they used to scuttle about in there til it was time to go back in their cage.

because its a fish tank! the reason you shouldnt keep rats in tanks is mostly the ventilation issue but also because theres just not enough space, they cant climb up the sides like they can in a cage, they just have to sit in the bottom. i dont think id wanna be in there! but as long as you dont take ages cleaning the cage it shouldnt be too much of a problem. i doubt theyll ever like going in it, but like you said its the safest place while youre cleaning so being there is in their best interests whether they like it or not. i put my rats in a smaller cage when i clean the big cages, and its still pretty big and they can run around and everything but they hate it anyway! they just wanna be back in their proper cage (or running free lol), its normal from them to be like that
