Feminists told women that "cooking" is degrading.
As a result of this constant brainwashing, many women these days think heating up a bowl of Ramen noodles equals "cooking". And many refuse to cook for the men in their lives.
Boyfriends & husbands do a lot. The majority of the time, the man pays for everything, from dinners to concert tickets to the mortgage to the car note. If a burglar breaks in to your home, it will be the guy that grabs the gun, bat, or knife to go protect the her. He is the first line of defense as to whether she is unharmed or not.
Despite all of these things men do for women, many women refuse to cook him a meal.

Tronix: I have been told I'm a good cook. But I wouldn't cook you a meal because you have a nasty attitude. Now go do my laundry.
Magnamia: What makes you say chivalry is part of our "instinct"? Are you a man? What you said actually contradicts the feminist argument that chivalry is a social construct and has nothing to do with "instinct".
