1970's Honda CB750K was supposedly the first motorcycle to do over 120 mph. Right now my 1973 can barley go past 70mph. Its got plenty of power around the city, but when i need to speed up, it just feels like it has no more "GO"! This only happens after about midway through the rev range.
I have done some recent mods, but the bike never had much top-end power since I've had it.
Appears to have stock gearing. I recently put on new carbs & re-jetted for mac 4-1 exhaust so its not the carbs, they're spotless. The gas tank is fair, & appears to have been sealed before I got the bike.
Replaced a bad coil recently also, but doesn't seem to be running rough, just powerless in the higher rpms. Are you supposed to replace coils as a set of 2?
Any advice on what to check next is much appreciated!
Thanks.
