Why don't guys find intelligence attractive?

I'm not saying that guys like their girlfriends to be gibbering morons, but high intelligence seems to be a real turn-off, which is unfortunate for me, as I'm an A-grade student.

I'm 16 and have never had a boyfriend or even been kissed. I try to tone down my intelligence with guys I like - which I know is terrible - but the truth always comes out. A few months back, I made the mistake of telling a guy I was attracted to my GCSE results when he asked me: 2 As and 8 A*s was not what he wanted to hear! After I told him my grades, he was subtly - but definitely - more distant.

I don't know what to do!

I will be honest. Some guys might feel intimidated about a girl being smarter than them or maybe they think you are out of their league or perhaps too smart to be manipulated and used.

I believe they feel a little intimidated, it's not like they don't like a smart girl, but a brilliant girl is going to freak them out because they are going to fell like they are not at the same level, and that they can't impress you so easily.. I guess.. =S

I think as long as your fun and not to serious then guys are ok with you being smart. You just have to show them your not a boring stick in the mud (NOT saying you are but they just might assume that)

i didn't know we didn't like intelligent girls. i never get those memos for some reason. i like an intelligent girl. makes having a conversation oh so much easier. if guys are turned off by your grades, don't worry about it. mentally they are not on the same level as you. you will find a guy, soon, who is interested in you for who you are.
