...attacks on science ............? by some of the lunatic fringe attached to the Christian faith then they are condoning their dishonest tactics by default?
If decent Christians want respect then why don't you set about earning it by standing up for something that's worthwhile standing up for, the unbridled search for more knowledge through every area of scientific study.
Lets not forget that some areas of the Christian faith circulate and spread their propaganda by using every modern scientific advancement they can lay their deceptive hands on, particularly via the internet and television.
The truth is the last thing these so called Christians are interested in finding, for them truth is a word that's just convenient for the purpose of selling a marketable product.
They love using the word science when applying it to their cohorts by even applying letters before their name that is designed to give them some scientific recognition and respect amongst their followers, but real science remains the enemy target for them.
The lengths that they go to in trying to debunk real scientific study holds no bounds.
What Christians believe either inside or outside church is entirely their business but the education of children and the education system in general is everybody's business and should not be hamstrung by the people who wish to hijack it for the entirely spurious reasoning of promoting religious propaganda.
Most qualified scientists have little interest in debunking Faith because it's not part of their agenda.
They just set about acquiring more knowledge regardless of what the faithful think about them.
It's a pity that the more extreme elements of the Christian faith can't adopt the same outlook.
