why doesnt the mytouch 4g turn off all the way?

why is it when you turn off the phone it looks like its turning off but when you turn it back on it looks like it was never off it shows it like it was just in sleep mode? how do your turn it all the way off?

How are you defining "turning off"? There's a difference between turning the screen off (i.e. going into standby mode) and turning the phone off by holding the power button down and selecting power off.

If your phone has been powered off (and it take a minute or two to boot back up) then it was off completely. If it was on standby then just the screen was off and the processor runs at a slower speed to save power.

I've seen at least one ROM have a "hibernate" option. Is that what he means maybe?
