Why does China get all the attention for its human rights issues when Singapore is just as bad? Both allow for no free media, no free speech, arbitrary detention, sham elections and in many ways Singapore is worse. Basically all Singaporean men are slaves to the government while women get off very easy. The media never talks about the lack of men's rights in Singapore either. Men in Singapore are required to do 2.5 years of military service because of a non-existent threat and then must take 2 months out of every year to do more military service. Furthermore divorce courts are biased against men and only men are caned. Also, Singapore unlike China regulates all aspects of life. People are fined for not flushing toilets and washing there hands wrong. In both countries secret police are everywhere.
Unless someone can tell me why Singapore is so great (and please don't say its clean as lots of cities are clean), than I will continue to believe that Singapore has the worst human rights record of any developed country.
Where am I wrong?
