Why doesn't my car stereo work?

I bought a new headunit, for the longest time only the front door speakers were working. I suspected the rear ones were not wired. So i had someone wire them and a few days later i hear a popping noise and sound no longer comes out of any speakers. Just an occasianal pop and clip of music. I really doubt it is the headunit because i just bought it. Unless it is possible that i blew the headunit? by having the volume to loud.

TAKE OFF YOUR HEAD UNIT. THERE SHOULD BE A SLOT FOR THE FUSE. take out the fuse. see if there good. if they are, take out your head unit as a whole. put the stock radio on there.
