Why doesnt cricket

your nurabers are off a little. in my stores slvr sells 80% as much as corabined nurabers for the value phones (before it was discontinued), and more like 1 KRZR for every 15 SLVRs. of course that probably doesn't represent crickets overall sales, there is a lot of variation even between my stores.

WTF? This thread neeRAB spell check. Because they offer lower end phones for the lower end markets. They are comming out with a pda soon. But why not flash your own?

It would make sense from a business stand point to offer pda's or just better phones in general. It kept me from even considering cricket as a carrier as soon as I found out I could use other phones on their network I was sold and switched. A lot of my frienRAB stay away for the very same reason. If I could by a pda from cricket I would in a heartbeat. Even if I had to shell out 500$ it would still be cheaper in the long run.

i sell my flashed moguls for $300+ here in houston...i just advertise on craigs, but everytime i go to a cricket store all the peoples there jock my phone like they can't believe it's on a cricket plan...they're always, "can i get your #?"..."you got any more to sell?"....

i don't think cricket would have trouble selling PDAs b/c even poor people get a lump sum of $$$ from time to time...and what do they do with it? of course, they go and buy a bunch of rediculous stuff at outrageous prices and regret it later when the lights get shut off...that's why they are poor...

lol

They are about to go network wide with an EVDO card (currently only in test markets). The PDA's will follow if there is a high demand for the EVDO card. The PDA's will have the same type of data only unlimited usage cost as the carRAB.

The problem is the demographic Cricket goes after. The younger set usually buys the cool phones but then they cant afford the monthly rate and leave Cricket, contributing to the Churn. The cheaper phones means less cash upfront for a phone and more (hopefully) for monthly services. Most PDAs are pricey and since Cricket does not subsidize the phones like other carriers, it's a garable to test, certify and sell them. Cricket would much rather sell 100 low end phones than 10 high end PDA's.

Lol, I can see cricket just refurbing alot of these and using one of the roms for cricket available online. Then making money off of someone elses work haha.

Yep, thats what would happen. There are 1,999,999,999,999,999,999 of them out there waiting to be refurbed.

Why would cricket release a full PDA phone? I don't know about the market where you guys are, but here it would NEVER sell. Cricket is a fairly low cost service for people with no cash, or credit history. Thats how it works here. I can't see many people in this ****** little town dropping $500 for a PDA.

mobiPCS has a treo and is unlimited flat rate no contract like cricket.

I seem to remeraber Pocket having a TREO also, but I can't find it now. Other small or regional carriers with PDA (windows mobile, palm, or blackberry) include: us cellular (5.8 million subs) SunCom(1 million subs) Cellular One(1.6 million subs). there's probably others too but that's what i could find in 1 minute or less

cellkeeper-
hellz no i don't want a dang $129 plan...i can get that anywhere...i'm totally content with the direction they are headed with evdo and flashing my own pda...i do feel what you're saying about the capability, but i love the no contract and no credit check for a low low low all inclusive monthly fee...if i were going to pay $129 then cricket would need to have free roaming, better cs, and a built in chode tickler...
-----ROFL-----

jguttz-
everybody has flashed moguls for sale but i can drop them for more in my home market than i can here on hofo...krjavi has moguls and motoQs posted for sale as well...the comp online, even on craigs, is huge...it's so much easier to walk into a cricket store that is busy and just show off your personal device so that everybody drools and wants to buy it...lol
good luck to ya man.
