why doesn't boot camp open the windows installer?

I'm trying to install windows on my intel macbook using book camp. I've made the boot camp partitions, and i have a genuine windows disc. when boot camp restarts the mac to install windows, it spits the disc out and loads my OS normally. why is it doing this and what do i do to fix it?
