The interesting thing is that the car company who employees the most US workers is Toyota. But honestly I don't think it would work anyway, I don't think anyone is going to go buy American cars because Obama tells them to.
 
I think you are absolutely correct.

That would solve the problem. I am buying American later this year. My Toyota Camry has been a piece of junk and a sinkhole for my money because foreign cars cost a fortune to repair. I just hope they are still around when I buy in December.
 
Because he already knows that the components that go into supposedly American made cars , as well as supposedly foreign made cars, are really manufactured and put together all over the world, including the USA. It's been GLOBAL economy for for over two decades.
 
Because the Japanese build better cars. The only country with a major interest in Ford is Australia, and even then the majority of them want to see Holden smash it in races.
 
Buying US products exclusively won't stimulate the economy since most of the stuff we use to make cars now are imported from other countries.

This has been tried and this has failed.

Even republicans have realized this and thrown out the ideology behind it.

Opinion - I think people who drive big suvs are over compensating for being small.
 
People used to be proud of the Us

Most of the younger generation of lost their pride

maybe it is not their fault as since after WW II the United

States has been involved in wars that we did not win..or were just

senseless waste of lives and natural resources

Korea? Viet Nam? the endless Desert WARS?

Now the same generations thumbs down the Big Three as they

don't like their style or whatever reasons. The pre baby boomers

would never buy two things..no brand PRODUCTS and foreign products

Now we have embraced the Japanese and German Cars and buy

a lot of our goods from third world countries and Asia

Then the younger generation will be hit with a economic *DEPRESSION*

and they will wonder *how come the USA is failing? it must be the Republican/Democrats?* Politician..American failed itself
NAFTA and all the unbalanced trade with China and others

Maybe the former US auto manufactures should start building high quality cars in the US again like they used too and like Toyota does now.

After the last experience I had with GM, I'll never buy a vehicle from them again.
The vehicle was fine, but the problems GM caused (not even the dealer; GM themselves!) left a bad taste in my mouth.
 
a.) Because he is not the president.............yet.

b.) Because he is not a bully. He's the guy with intelligence, remember? That's why we voted for him.........

c.) Because America hasn't made a decent auto in decades......and the greediness of GM and Chrysler has put them right where they deserve to be.......in the junk heap.

GM put the guzzlers on the road so people are afraid to buy the higher mpg medium cars for fear of getting hit at intersections. no thanks, have you noticed how many SUV drivers crash all the time?
 
Buyin american simply for the sake of buying american would not be american, Buying the best product is american, that makes the american car companies work harder to earn your business. otherwise they would only make junk
