of mormon history? mormons always tell you that if you want to learn about mormonism that you should ask a mormon, not a non-mormon. but when talking with mormons they never tell you about the controversial aspects of mormon history. but non-mormons will. then maybe you think the non-mormons are making it up, so you ask a mormon if what they said was true, and to your surprise the mormon says, well yes it is BUT, ...(at this point they begin to give an explanation or rationalization for why it wasn't what it seemed to be). but why don't mormons bring this up in the first place, like in their church history classes, and give the explaination for it in the class? it just makes it seem like they are embarassed and trying to hide it and pretend like it never happened.
